Love My Bug!

Here it is once again Monday and time for another Joys Life Design Team Post.
With Valentines Day right around the corner the Design team will be making project with a love theme using Joys Life "Joyful Hearts" which can be purchased HERE.
I love making layouts and since I have 3 granddaughters I can go all out with all the girly stuff, like glitter, stickles, ribbon and yes the colour pink!
I used clipboard letters for the word ADORE covering them in matching paper and added stickles on the edges.

I also finally got around to using my Sew Ribbon by We R Memory Makers which I picked up at Scrap Camp in October. It was so much fun to use, I really don't know why I waited so long,
I bet you see a lot of my layouts with ribbon in the near future.
On the tag I used Joys Life "Joyful Hearts" and the sentiment is from Joys Life "All Around Sentiments".
I used a photo corner punch for the corners with yet more stickles. The sentiment is also from Joys Life "Joyful Hearts".
The bear is a SVG file from Bear Hugs which sadly is no longer in business.
I am also going to enter this layout in D.L. Art  Thankful Thursday Challenge- use red or pink.
Once again thank you for stopping bye.

Disney Blog Hop Winner and Thank you Card

Happy Friday!
Today I have a  thank card in honor of all my lovely followers who stopped by my blog and left comments on the Disney Blog Hop. Wasn't there some great inspiring ideals?

This is going to be a quick post since I am leaving the terrible cold winter behind in just a couple of days and heading for Arizona for a month and I still have a million things to do.
This was really a fun card to make. The card measures 5 inches by 5 inches. I cut the bird from Cricuts Celebrate with Flourish at 3 inches and added some feathers to the tail
I used a Cuttle Bug folder for the embossing and the swirl on left of the card was cut with my cameo.
I finally got around to using my Sew Easy after only two months. Doesn't it just add such a beautiful finish to the card? The sentiment is from Joys Life"Joyful Hearts" which can be purchased HERE.
Now on to the winner of the Disney Blog Hop.

Winter Sleigh Ride "Cold Hands Warm Heart"

Happy Monday to all my crafty friend. I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend with your loved ones.
Today I have a another fun project for Joys Life Design Team

This week we were asked to make a Winter Themed Project.
It has been a while since I did a layout and I was dying to use the old fashion boy and sled from A Quilted Christmas Cricut Cartridge.

I love the way you can use a Christmas Cartridge and a Christmas stamp set and still come out with a beautiful layout that does not need Christmas picture.
The boy was cut at 5 inches. I did cut away the presents on the sled, since  I will be adding some sledding pictures once I get them printed.

For the top border I used Joys Life "Oh Christmas Puns"
cold hands
WARM HEART
which can be purchased here.
I just love the way the border turned out.

The mittens were cut from Cricut Cartridge Winter Wonderland at 3 inches using a bit of embroidery thread for the idiot strings.
I always hated idiot strings as a child but we never were without, my parents could not afford to keep replacing them.
Challenges entered:
Fantabulous Cricut: Sound of Music
D.L. Art: Anything goes Linky Party
So that is it for today as always thanks for stopping bye.

All cuts were made using my Cricut machine and Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge

Did you know that Minnie Mouse was also born in 1928 she is the long time sweetheart of Mickey Mouse.

Blog Candy Winners and Update on My Daughter

Wow!
Let me tell you this has been one heck of a week!
and I have a few more gray hairs to prove it.
Today I have two winners to announce.
But first a update on my daughter Christy.
I never said anything on my blog but there were a few things posted on Facebook last week about my daughter Christy
Last Friday she went in for surgery and we just about lost her...not once but twice in one night.
My sister has given her a new nickname. Which is "Kitty"
she swear the girl has nine lives.
After two surgeries, four pints of bloods and a weeks stay at the hospital. She is home resting!
Well not really home in her house but ours where her mommy can take good care of her, LOL!
I would like to thank you all for your prays. They really were needed . I just wasn't ready to lose my baby girl at this time of my life.
Now onto the winners of my blog candy.
For the Joy's Life blog hop

Sweet Treat Card with Attached Bookmark! Plus Blog Candy!

Hello my Crafty Friends!
Today I have another post for Joys Life Design Team.
This week the Design Team have been asked to use a new technique. So I put my thinking hat on and decided to try making a card with a treat holder and also with a attached bookmark.
I took a 12 X 12 piece of card stalk and cut it at 5.5 inches.
Next I scored the paper at 4.5 and then folded this in half. This left 3 inches and this is where I perforated it so I would have a 3 inch bookmark.
(Blog Candy at bottom of post)
I then layered the card with red and white and added some faux stitching around the edge of the card and added my sentiment from Joys Life Stamps "Everyday Occasions".

For the front of the card I used doll 13 from Cricut Paisley cartridge since she has a nice fat belly. I then punched a hole where the flower was supposed to go. Nest I placed the doll on the front of the card and drew a circle so I could punch a hole through all the layers. Next step was to add a candy mold from Michael's.

For the  flower to fit around the mold  I used my gypsy to get the right size. I made a small tag to fit over the hole and added a tab . I then used pop up dots for the tag to slip in.
Next step was to design the book mark.
Once again I used Cricut Paisley cartridge to cut this sexy looking cat.
The sentiment is from Joys Life Stamps " Lots of Puns"
These cards are so much fun to make and I just love adding the bookmark.
When cleaning up my scrap room I came across a extra Mini Rotary Cutter by Recollections.
I must have purchased it and forgotten about it, so if you would like to make one of these cards with the attached bookmark, just leave a comment with a way to get in touch with you and I will pick a winner next Monday.
As always thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

Joys Life Mini Book Blog Hop. Girls Night Out!

Welcome to Joys Life Mini Book Blog Hop. If you arrived from Joys Life Blog then you are right on track.
Today we have all gotten together to blow you away with some wonderful Mini Albums.
So please grab a cup of coffee, put your feet up and have fun!
For my project I went with a 5 by 5 mini album and matching box to store it in.

I purchased the cutting file set over at the Silhouette Store and it was nice and easy to put together. I decided to call the album Girls Night Out! But really  it should be Girls weekend get away!

For the front cover I used Joys Life Yummy Puns "Friends make life Sweet"
How true this was that weekend.
This is a shot of my daughter, niece and myself when we just arrived in Vegas and finished checked into our rooms. Once again I used another great sentiment from Joys Life "Yummy Pun". This one really says all there is to say about my daughter, she really means the world to me and not only is she my daughter but my BFF! and yes "We are a great pair"
This next page was so fun to design. I made the margarita glass from Cricuts Ole' cartridge and then made it into a cute tag using two different set of stamps from Joys Life.com The first one is called "Lots of Puns" and the second one is "All Around Sentiments".
Notice how our pictures are getting a bit burring. Well this one was taken at Margaritaville after drinking who knows how many Margarita's.
The "Happy cake day!" is also from Joys Life Yummy Puns.
So now it is time to send you off to Kimberly's amazing blog to see what she has design for you today.
I do have some blog Candy for one of my lucky followers just leave a comment and a way to get in touch with you.
and I will pick a winner on Friday.

Thanks for stopping bye, I hope I was able to inspire you today.

A Pirates Treasure Hunt!

Happy New Years!
To all my Craft Friends!
This will be my first post for 2013 with Joys Life Design Team.
This week the girls were ask to make a project using something new.
Well, all you have to do is look around my craft room and you will see I have so many things that are still in there original packages. I didn't even have to go shopping for this one. LOL!
Just after Cricut released Pirates and Mermaids I was online ordering it.
It was one of those things I just had to have!
So I blew the dust off the package and cut it open and away I went.
I decided I wanted to have a Treasure Hunt on Christmas Eve for my Granddaughter Jasmine.
We have four younger grand kids that count how many gifts they get and since we bought Jasmine a bike we had to limit her gifts to just the one.
So I went to the Dollar Store and picked up a bunch of small gifts to go with the clues and this way she would not feel left out and think we didn't love her.
I had a ball doing this project.
Writing the clues was a real challenge but the kids had so much fun playing, it was worth all the work I put into this project.
All the cuts were from Pirates and Mermaids Cricut Cartridge
I used two different sets of Joys Life Stamps
The clues were typed on card stock and then cut into tags that looked like mapsI added the sentiments from Joys Life Stamps.
Once all the clues and the tag maps were make it was time to wrap the little gifts.
I used brown postal paper which I wrinkled up and distress with ink so it would look old. I then tied it with twine and attached the tags with there clues to the packages.
I had Jasmine running from one room to the next, up and down the stairs. Once she was upstairs for the last time, Hubby put the Bike under the Christmas Tree for the final treasure!
This game turned out to be so much fun! It  really was the highlight of Christmas Eve, all the grand kids had such a great time searching for the clues.
This is a picture of Jasmine opening one of her treasures, which was hidden in my scrap room.
I will be entering this in this weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut: this weeks challenge- Tag it .
and D.L. Art January Linky Party- Anything goes
FYI, we went over to visit the kids yesterday and the first thing Jasmine did was run and get her hat and clues. I guess she has been playing pirate hunt ever since Christmas.
Thanks for stopping bye , have a great week.

On Your Wedding Day! for D.L. Art and Little Scrap Pieces Challenge

Woo! Hoo!
 My Blog is fixed!
Thanks to some of my bloggers friends. Now I can show you some of  the projects I have been working on.
One of the girls in the office where my hubby works was getting married just before Christmas in Mexico so Hubby asked if I could make a special wedding card for her.
I love the way this card turned out.The pictures do not do it justice for sure.
I used Cricuts Wedding cartridge to cut the Bride and Groom at 5.5 inches.
The base of the card was made on my Gypsy using Cricuts Elegant Edges.
Here is a photo of the inside of the card.
