New winner for my 200 Follower Blog Candy!

Good news and bad news.

First for the good news!

I am happy to say that hubby and I were finally able to get away to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was actually on October 30th but Alf could not get the time off work till now. So we packed our bags and left the snow behind for two wonderful weeks in Orlando Florida.

It was just so nice to get away. I did a lot of relaxing and just layed around the pool and enjoy the sun. It has just been so darn cold here and don't let me even start talking about the snow! Of course we went to Disney World ..... I just had to see the Mouse and all his wonderful friends!

We also had two days at Universal Studios which was just so amazing ! The new Harry Potter addition is beyond words!

I know I could go on and on about vacation but I am just dying to get into my scrap room. I missed scrapping so much! Next time, I am taking some down with me, not that I didn't buy tons of it, I even found a Cricut Cartridge for $10.00 at Micaels. I grab that baby really quick!

Now for the bad news....

I never heard from my winner for my 200 follower blog candy and for the life of me I cannot find her email address and she has no blog that I could even leave a comment.................so I had to pick a new winner! So I guess that is good for anyone else who left a comment, because you all have a second chance!

And the winner is!!!!!!!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #42: Winter Wonderland Page TWO

So I finally got around to making the second page for my Winter Wonderland Layout. Did you guys know that my Winter Wonderland layout was published in January 1st 2011 issue of GingerScrapStreet magazine? Chick here for January issue, you can find my layout on page 37. I was some excited to think one of my layouts was really published! Just one more thing to mark off my Bucket List.

Fantabulous Cricut has another cool challenge going on: Challenge # 42 Winter Warmies, create something using some type of winter clothing on your project.

I cut both the skater and sledder at 2.5 inches using Winter Frolic.

The Photo Matt was cut at 4.5 inches using Twinkle Toes

The trees were cut at 8 inches using Christmas Noel

and finally the pond was cut from Create A critter. Here is a shot of both pages together.

Hope you enjoy.

Winner of my 200 Follower Blog Candy!

First I would just like to say thank you to all my new and old followers. You really do make my day with your lovely comments. Without you I would have no reason to blog, which takes up a good portion of my life, and believe me this is a good thing! Before I found blogging I was just someone who felt sorry for herself day in and day out. You see I have a lung disease, which plays a large part of my day to day living. I have good days and bad days, but just knowing I have my blogging friends out their makes me want to get up each day and create. I can put my thought down on paper and know my family will not worry about me. I have become a much stronger person since I found all of you and hope you will continue to come by and visit me and of course leave all those wonderful comments!

So I guess you all would like to know who won the goodies, so without further delay.

I used random dot org and and the winner is

drumroll please!!!!!!!!!!!

I cut the little girl at 3.5 inches and used my PKS on her face. I also used my birthday embossing folder for the background.

I am going to enter this card for this weeks challenge over at Paper Playtime

Abbys Wedding / Anniversary Challenge

Wow, I finally pulled out some of our wedding photos and decided to do my album. There are not many pictures and the ones we have are very bad!

You have to remember we were married in 1970, that is over 40 years ago but it seems like only yesterday. I can remember everything so well.

I did this two page layout for a challenge that I found over at Scrapbookaholic. Abby just celebrated her 15Th Wedding Anniversary.

I decided not to use my cricut for this layout and make it look a bit old fashion. I added pink rose ribbon to the layout to match the pink flower on my gown. I used my sewing machine , something I do not do to often.
It was really pretty funny, cause hubby heard the sewing machine and he thought I was hemming his pants he got for Christmas. Sorry Hubbie..... maybe next time! LOL

I had my sons kids over yesterday and the girls love to see what Nanny is working on. So when I told them the pictures were of Papa and Nanny the middle one spoke up and said......I don't think so!.
Kids are so cute.
If you are looking for my 200 Follower Blog Candy click here. You have until the morning of Jan. 10th and I will then be picking a winner!

Let It Snow Mini Album! And 200 Followers Blog Candy!

Just look at this darling little Penguin....Isn't he just the cutest thing ever? Today is another challenge for the Design Team over at Cricut Mini Albums, this weeks challenge is snow. I live in Canada and guess what! I hate the snow! If it was up to me I would be moving tomorrow, but hubby just loves it here in Edmonton and I can not convince him to make the big move.

This is a very small album, there are only four pages to put pictures and I am just waiting for my sons family to come over today for a visit , and then I can get a shot of each of his kids playing in the snow.

The oval on the front cover is from a Christmas card I got this year from my BFF and I just had to recycle it. She hand painted the red trim around the edge and the glitter is just so amazing. Thank you Sharon for helping me out with my mini album this time. LOL!

I used Winter Frolic for the darling little Penguin cutting him at 2 inches. His little umbrella was cut from Paisley also at 2 inches and the snow flakes were cut at 3 inches using, When it's Cold Outside.

The snowmen are just something I picked up at the Dollar Store. I also used my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder for all the embossing.

Final touches were my white gel pen, inked around all the edges and added ribbon to match.
I am also going to be entering this mini over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #41 Snowy Delight and Made by Momo Challenge Me Tuesday

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed and I will see you all back on my next post, which will be some Pink Blog Candy! Just taking pictures now.

Meredith Scraps Card Challenge: Black Magic Technique!

First off, I would like to wish all my faithful followers a Happy New Years! I cannot believe I have hit 200 followers in such a short time. Please check back in the next couple of days, I will be doing a give away. I am just getting the blog candy together.
So for my first card of 2011. I decided to do a new technique. It is called Black Magic, I just love the way this card turned out. My daughter in law has a birthday coming up on the 3rd, so this is for her.

For the card I used black card stock
White pigment ink
3 shades of green water pencils
white ribbon
and lots of bling.
You can find a tutorial over at Splitcoast Stamper for this technique.
I am entering this card for my first challenge of 2011 over at Meredith Scraps, her card challenge : you must use Colouring on your card somehow.
Hope you enjoy, thanks for popping in.
